PANJIM: Stating that the party will not tolerate any “political compulsion” on the Mhadei river water diversion issue, GPF said it will act as a watchdog to ensure that no water is diverted to Karnataka even for drinking purposes.
“The PAC members raised the issue of Mhadei with WRD Minister Vinod Palyekar. The minister has assured that he will not dilute his stand on Mhadei. The party members will continue to be watchdogs on the Mhadei issue,” GFP chief spokesperson Trajano D’Mello said.
“We will not allow any political compulsion or anyone to intermediate. Any dilution of stand on the Mhadei issue will be looked at seriously and would be termed as an attempt of Goa’s merger with Karnataka,” he stated.
