D’ Souza was speaking to reporters on the sidelines of launching of mobile Medicare unit, sponsored under corporate social Responsibility (CSR) by Himachal Futuristic Communication Limited (HFCL), Verna to the HelpAge India, Goa Unit at Verna Industrial Estate, on Friday.
The Mobile unit was flagged off by Francis D’Souza, in the presence of M P Shukla, chairman of HFCL and Sumana Das Gupta, joint director HelpAge India and others.
Replying to a query whether he had hinted about his retirement plan during his address to the gathering, D’Souza said that although the decision of his retirement is in the hands of the people, still he would surely retire from the active politics after five years.
“My retirement would be purely on the decision of my people. If they want, I will retire from politics now. But still I have lots of energy left to deliver to the expectations of the people. As everyone, I am growing old, therefore, I have decided to contest the forthcoming assembly elections and after completing the next term, I will retire from politics,” he said.
