During an evening tour of Be-naulim and Varca, several football lovers spoke about their enthusiasm for the tournament and the teams they would be supporting on football’s biggest stage.

Among them was Benaulim resident and football enthusiast Sebi, who said he would be closely following the matches throughout the competition. In Varca, Vincent and other football fans expressed similar excitement, with many planning to gather with friends and family to watch the games.
When asked about their favourites, a majority of supporters named Argentina and Portugal as the teams they would be backing. Fans cited the rich footballing traditions of both nations and their star-studded squads as reasons for their support.

The World Cup excitement has also reached Taleigao, where football enthusiast Nicholas Fernandes celebrated the tournament in a unique and colourful manner. To mark the occasion, Fernandes hoisted the flags of all participating nations outside his residence, symbolising the spirit of global unity and the love for football.

The vibrant display has attracted the attention of locals and fellow football fans, reflecting Goa’s enduring passion for the sport and its strong connection with the World Cup.
