VASCO: In a tragic incident, a 20-year-old youth died of electrocution at a dockyard in Sancoale on Friday evening. The deceased has been identified as Chand Babu, a native of Uttar Pradesh and presently staying at Zarint Zuarinagar, Sancoale.
According to police, the incident occurred when the deceased was working on an under-construction ship at Majestic Dockyard in Sancoale. While cleaning, he accidently held a live wire connected to a bulb which led to the fatal accident. He was rushed to SDH Chicalim in an unconscious state where he breathed his last.
Post-mortem examination at South Goa District Hospital in Margao confirmed that the cause of death was electrocution. Body of the deceased has been handed over to his relatives and the case is being investigated by PSI Pramila Fernandes.
