VASCO: One 23-year-old youth from MPT Colony, Headland Sada was nabbed by Mormugao Police on Tuesday night with possession of 54 grams ganja worth Rs 10,000 hidden in his Karizma bike.
Sources from the Mormugao Police Station informed that in a surprise narcotics raid at Jetty area, Headland-Sada, the police nabbed one youth named Gopi Dalai (23) for illegally possessing 54 grams of ganja, hidden in his Karizma bike.

Sources said the police team headed by Mormugao PI Paresh Naik along with Police Sub-Inspector Sajith Pillai, Police Constable Girish Satardekar, Ajit Parab, Purshottam Naik, Hanuman Naik caught the youth red handed, following a raid and also attached the bike used by the accused Dalai under panchanama. An offence has been registered under the provisions of the NDPS Act and the accused has been arrested under Section 20 b (II)(A) of NDPS Act 1985.
“Mormugao Police will continue drive against narcotics,” Mormugao PI Paresh Naik added. PSI Yogendra Garudi is investigating the case under the supervision of PI Paresh Naik and DySp Rajendra Raut Desai.
PI Paresh Naik said that a drive was conducted after several residents had complained of public nuisance in various areas of Sada for drinking in the open areas.
Naik also reiterated that the drive would continue to nab any miscreants or people indulging in anti-social activities in Mormugao Police Station’s jurisdiction.
