PANJIM: The first council meeting of North Goa Zilla Panchayat was postponed due to the absence of two members. The meeting, which was scheduled for Monday morning at the Secretariat in Porvorim, involved chalking out a plan for the Zilla Panchayat and crucial discussions on its powers and funding.
Officials said that members Sandip Vernekar and Tukram Harmalkar were absent because they had not received the meeting’s notice. Hence, the chairperson decided to postpone the meeting.
Speaking to the press at Porvorim, Ankita Navelkar said they would demand action against CEO Vinesh Arlekar for not sending the notices to the two ZP members.
She also said they would demand new vehicles as the ones presently given to them were old.
