Sources in the Narcotics Control Bureau have confirmed that the trend is alarming and very serious.
Ashpak Bengre who was arrested by the Punjab police on May 15, 2015 was one of the main carrier’s of drugs from Goa to other metros during the off season. An official of the central drug agency said, “Interrogating Bengre who is in a Punjab jail will expose the entire syndicate from Goa”. Like Bengre, there are more than 30 carriers who actually carry the drug from Goa to other metros including, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai etc and sell it, as most of the synthetic drug have a particular validity.
Presently, on Goa’s coast, the only drug which is available is Heroine. The rest, right from Cocaine, MDMA, Ecstasy, LSD, Charas etc are all being transported to other parts of the country where they are used as party drugs in clubs.
One dealer remarked, “The only source for the metros to get quality drugs is through Goa. All drugs have to reach Goa first. Goa is a transit point for the rest of the country. Even drugs from Rajasthan and the Punjab border come to Goa and then go back to the rest of the country” he informed.
Drugs like MDMA, LSD, Meow Meow, Devils Breath etc is now manufactured in Goa in laboratories set up on the coast. Chemists work over time for the drug lords in Goa to produce drugs which have a very high value in market.
This practice is new and has hoodwinked law enforcement agencies. From May, the transportation of drugs starts. Once the monsoons begins the party lovers move to metros and so do the drug consignments.
