Story: Tanya (Regina) and Shubert (Mauvin) are madly in love with each other. But will their love grow and last till the end?
Review:
The curtains rise with the road scene wherein Zico (Princewell) and Pio (Clint) are friends and both are addicted to smoking and drinking. Busy teasing the girls passing by, they are interrupted by a priest (Mario) who lends them some sound advice. His words actually have an effect on Zico, who wishes to mend his ways, but Pio rejects the advice and follows the wrong path.
After the death of his parents, poor that he is, Schubert is brought up by his grandfather. He then gets into a relationship with Tanya, who comes from a decent family; she lives with her father, Jose (Mini Mario).
As Pio is involved in notorious activities, his mother, Sandra (Sharon), who is a member of a women’s organisation, wishes to get him married. She drops in at Jose’s residence and expresses her wish to unite her son with his daughter in marriage. Jose blindly agrees.
When Tanya reveals to her father that she is in love with Schubert, who is unfortunately unemployed, Jose opposes and threatens to commit suicide if she insists. Finally, against her wish, Tanya marries Pio.
When on their honeymoon, what does Tanya reveal to her husband? Will Pio accept the fact that his wife was in love with someone else? Or will the revelation have an adverse effect?
Mini Mario’s tiatr ‘Mogacho Ghontter’ focuses on the youngsters enjoying courtship and the opposition that follows from their parents. But the director reveals in the drama that when disaster strikes, there’s always a ray of hope somewhere, with heartbreaks to follow sometimes. The second half makes the viewing more interesting.
As lovebirds, Mauvin and Regina have played their respective roles with gusto. In the negative character, Clint is apt and delivers in style. Princewell extends good support to his friend. Mario is effective as a priest, though an older actor would have been more impactful. Sharon and Mini Mario stand tall in their respective guardian roles and deliver with ease.
In the comic acts, Aston, Bladwin, Felcy and Anthony form a comic quartet, but some jokes appeared old and the overacting could have been avoided.
In the category of songs, Mini Mario, Ashbel, Trizel, Princewell and Aston entertain with solos. There are duos by Sharon and Regina, Princewell and Mauvin, a duet by father-daughter Mini Mario and Ashbel and a trio by Bladwin, Aston and Clint, which receive an encore.
Two women in the band, Maclinda from Sao Jose Areal and Telzia from Navelim, deserve a mention as the duo have provided good music on the keyboard and bass guitar respectively.
