PONDA: Abilio Brothers proved their prowess against Rebello Pandal in the tie-breaker to register a 5-4 victory and claim the 25th Our Lady of Immaculate Conception football tournament, organised on the occasion of feast of Our Lady of Immaculate Conception Church, by Fr. Agnel Sports Club, at Fr Agnel ground, Dabal.
No goals were scored during the stipulated time as a result the winners were decided via the tie-breaker. For Abilio Brothers, Nelson Fernandes, P Gomes, B Veigas, Aron Almeida and D Cardozo scored whereas for Rebello Pandal Vincent Barboza, Lensio Pinto, Feddrick Vaz and Melito Fernandes were on target.
Winners were awarded a cash prize of Rs 25,000 plus trophy while the runners-up had to settle for Rs 15,000 and a trophy.
Velim Constituency MLA Benjamin Silva was the chief guest and gave away the prizes.
