CALANGUTE: FC Baga defeated Saligao Sporting by 5-0 margin in the FC Baga summer coaching camp for U-10 and U-15 boys, at Sauntavaddo, Baga, recently.
Saish Palyekar (1), Augustine Fernandes (2), Akash Lamani (1), Mithil Harmalkar(1) were the goal scorers in the U-15 boys match.
While in the U-10 match, FC Baga managed to edge past Saligao Sporting by 2-1 margin.
For FC Baga, Velroy Fernandes netted a brace while for Saligao Sporting Vellan Fernandes managed to pull a goal back.
The first scorer was awarded to Velroy Fernandes from FC Baga while Allwin Fernandes of Saligao Sporting bagged the best forward. best midfielder was awarded to Vellan Fernandes from Saligao Sporting, Brahmesh Redkar of FC Baga was named as the best defender. Nitesh Chauhan of FC Baga who was brilliant under the goal was honoured by the best goalkeeper award, fastest forward was awarded to Dane Mascarenhas of FC Baga while Jovinho Fernandes from FC Baga bagged the best skillful player prize.
The boys were coached by Alexandre Fernandes, Bartholomew Sieiro, Raju Haldankar, Romeo Mascarenhas and Joaquim Fernandes.
The chief guest, Fr Marcelino DSouza gave the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Fr Francis Miranda, Romeo Fernandes, Filomena Fernandes, GFA Executive Member Patrick Dsouza, George D’Souza, Melvin Lobo, Pedro Gonsalves, Albert Fernandes and John Fernandes.
