PANJIM: Albert Developers St Inez stormed into the semi-finals of the All Goa seven-a-side football tournament being played at St Agostinho ground, St Cruz.
They pumped in three goals to get the better of the host villagers, St Agostinho Boys, after leading 2-0 at the breather.
The tournament is being organised by Kraftwork Nites in memory of Anton Joao Fernandes.
Octavio Miranda opened the account for the Albert Developers five minutes into the game. Allwyn Cardozo buttressed the lead with a deft placement five minutes later. And Olan Chandran made the issue safe in the 35th minute.
The host village boys tried their best to score but failed to find the net. On one occasion Menino Botelho missed an opportunity but saw his try sailing over the bar. David also missed a sitter for the host team before half-time.
Crossing over St Agostinho went all out and pushed all their army into the attack hoping to reduce the margin. However, in the bargain they left gaps in the defence allowing their opponents to make counter moves. One of these culminated into a goal with Chandran making it 3-0 for Albert Developers.
Seby of St Agostinho Boys was cautioned by the referee.
Albert Developers St Inez will now cross swords with Valanki Boys Merces for a place in the final on Monday, Jan.23.
Eight teams are taking part in the tournament with the final slated for January 26.
