Alvernaz and Lalush Alemao soccer tourney

The 2nd Alvernaz and Lalush Alemao memorial inter-village football tournament organised by Churchill Brothers begins on June 14 at Varca ground.
The event will see promising stars of fancied clubs taking part in the 15-day event with reigning champions Parish Youth of Nuvem leading the charge. The other top teams include: St Savio Sports Club, Calangute, Chandor Club, Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda, Young Strikers, Benaulim , Sao Jose de Areal, United Club of Nerul, Navelim Villagers Union , Carmona Sports Club, Cuncolim Union, Nagoa Sports Club Arpora, Wilred Leisure Sports Club, Curtorim, Goa Velha Sports Club, Dando Boys, Colva , Union of Chinchinim Villagers and Varca Sports Club.
Warren Alemao, president of the organising committee disclosed, the winners and runners- up will receive Rs 60,000 and Rs 40,000 respectively, besides trophies. Every match will carry the man-of-the match prize, with a cash reward of Rs 1,000.
Valanka Alemao will declare the tournament open in the presence of her father, Churchill Alemao, PWD minister.
