RAIA: Ambaulim Youth edged past Raia Youth 3-2 in the final to clinch the 3rd Tribal 8-a-side Football Festival Cup organised by the Youth Hostels Association of India in association with the Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs, at the Laymati ground, Davorlim, on Sunday.
In all, 22 teams participated in two-day football festival. In the semi-finals, Ambaulim Youth downed Galaxy Boys, Chimbel, 4-1, while Raia Youth defeated Dragon Boys, Margao, 3-2.
Former chief minister of Goa and Margao MLA Digambar Kamat was the chief guest for the final and gave away the prizes in the presence of Adv Prasad Naik, Rosary Veterans President Anthony Colaco, Laxmidas Mangeshkar, Joyti Mangeshkar, Arvind Kuttikar, Caitan Costa and other dignitaries and club officials.
Earlier, the tournament was declared open by Navelim MLA Ulhas Tuenkar. PI Filomena Costa compered the function.
