RAIA: Socio-Cultural Club, Loutolim (SCC Loutolim) moved past Goa Velha Sports Club 6-5 via a tie-breaker to move into the next round of 25th Fernando Abranches memorial inter-village football tournament organised by United Club of Verna, at Verna panchayat ground, on Sunday.
Both teams played an intense game that ended in a goalless draw during the regulation time, despite numerous scoring opportunities for both the sides.
The match ultimately went to penalties, where Hadson, Daren, Samson, Dezil, Austin and Shelford scored for Socio-Cultural Club Loutolim. For Goa Velha SC, Prasil, Francis, Krishal, Joseph and Shubhangi found the net.
Daren Gomes of Socio-Cultural Club Loutolim was awarded the star-of-the-match for his stellar performance. The award was presented by former international players Jose Souza and Arnald Rodrigues.
