Ambelim dominated the proceedings with an attacking move in the 10th minute through Jade Colaco but his effort hit the goal post and the ball fell back into play.
Subsequently, Betalbatim showed urgency in the 14th minute but Frazier Rogtao could not outpace the strong rival defence.
However, Ambelim surged ahead in the 16th minute through Jade Colaco’s long ranger off an assist by Michael Silva.
Changing sides, Ambelim doubled their advantage as Samson Simoes’ grounder rolled past the rival keeper. Betalbatim did not give up their fight and pulled a goal back in the 41st minute as Kingslee Fernandes found the target after being fed by James Rebello.
In the final quarter, Ambelim guarded their fort effectively to frustrate the strikers of Betalbatim and seal victory.
