MAPUSA: Ana Vaddo managed to squeeze past Brothers of Orda 6-4 via the tie-breaker in the 3rd Friends Circle Inter-ward tournament, organised by Friends circle of Candolim, at Dr. Gustavo Monteiro ground, on Tuesday.
In the 23rd minute, Brothers of Orda surged ahead through Devendra Pednekar who collected a cross from Aniket Naik and placed the ball to the left of Ana vaddo keeper Chetan Kandokar.
However in the 35th minute, Ana Vaddo levelled terms when Frazer Fernandes brought down Ana Vaddo player Nasent Dsouza prompting the referee to point to the dreaded spot Bhavesh Candolkar stepped forward and equalised.
In the 45th minute, Orda keeper Kane Barreto brought off a good save of Bhavesh Candolkar efforts.
Three minutes later, Prakash Rathod headed the ball into the net off a cross by Bhavesh Candolkar to give Ana Vaddo the lead and make it 2-1.
In the dying minutes of the match, Frazer Fernandes scored a brilliant goal to equalise for Orda off a cross by Devendra Pednekar to make it 2-2.
In the tie breaker, Amar, Prakash Rathod, Nascent and Savio scored on target for Ana Vaddo while Joel Fernandes, Mervin D’Souza Frazer Fernandes scored on target for the Brothers of Orda outfit.
