The organiser, Siridao Sports Club, is the oldest football club in Tiswadi Taluka, which was registered with the Goa Football Association and Sports Authority of Goa in 1970. The club has nurtured many talented football players and also played in GFA senior division league for 10 years.
The club is also very famous in organizing sports and cultural activities. This year, the club organized three football tournaments such as Mathias Cup, 2nd London Cup and the ongoing floodlit Trawler Owners Cup, under the chairmanship of Menino Afonso along with the committee members Teofilo D’Souza, Pedru D’Souza, Andrew D’Souza , Sebastao Rebiero, Lawranco Afonso, Baptist Marque, Peregino Gracias Cruzinho Pinto and Vincy Afonso in coordination with Antonio Afonso, sarpanch of V.P Siridao-Palem.
For the final, the ground is being decorated with world top football playing countries flags, dazzling lights and DJ music to enthrall the crowd.
The main motto of the tournament was to bring all the neighbouring villages’ clubs together to promote and enjoy the football game with peace and love.
