Angela R Naik, became the first Goan lady international referee as she cleared the International Referee Examination conducted by World Taekwondo Federation in Bangalore.
Angela who had participated in 4th World Taekwondo Championship in Cairo qualified for the semi-finals in the individual event and stood overall 9th.
In the mixed pair event, Angela alongwith Trilok Subbha of Sikkim qualified for the semi-finals and stood overall 12th.
In all, 47 countries participated.
Angela participated in the jump dan examination and seminar conducted by Kukkiwon Korea in Bangalore and is awaiting the result.
At present, Angela is training children at Manovikas and Loyola High School, Margao.
