PANAJI: Arambol got the better of Valpoi 2-0 in a U-10 boy’s pre-quarterfinal match of the GFDC Rising Star Football Festival, at Aldona ground, recently.
In the second minute of the proceeding, Given Fernandes opened the score for the Arambol side.
In the 17th minute, Muvesh Vaigankar made it 2-0.
In another match, Mandrem registered a 3-1 win against Socorro in the U-13 boy match at the same venue.
Elsewhere in Quepem, Cuncolim defeated FC Goa South 1, 3-0 in the U-10 boys match. Ashward Dias opened the account in the 3rd minute.
Avril Almeida scored two goals in the 14th and 31st minute.
Paroda beat FC Goa South 1 by a comfortable six goal margin.
Clifton Fernandes scored a hat-trick while Richard Lima, Lion Clement and Alister Menezes netted one each to secure a win for the Paroda side.
