RAIA: Ave Maria Athletic and Walkers Club moved past Vasco City SCC 4-2 to collect full points in the Goa Football Association U-17 Division II League match played at Seraulim panchayat ground, on Sunday.

Aviton Mascarenhas scored a brace, while Breno Gonsalves and Mohammad Istiyaf scored a goal each for Ave Maria AWC. Both the goals for Vasco City were netted by Omkar Shaikh.

Nerul SC downed PVC Association 2-0 to enter into the quarter-finals of Nerul Cup inter-village football tournament played at Nerul ground, on Sunday. Prajyot Shirodkar and Jose Fernandes scored the goals in each half.

UC Verna

United Club of Verna stormed into the final of 33rd Arlem Rolling Trophy defeating Margao Sports Club 3-1 in the second semi-final played at Raia panchayat ground, on Sunday.

Margao Sports Club opened the scoreline in the 20th minute of play by Richie Vaz and UC Verna equalised in the 30th minute through the efforts of Stephen Satarkar.

Both teams remained 1-1 draw at half time.

As match entered into the second session, UC Verna regroup quickly and took control of the game and fired a brace through striker Beneston Barreto in the 40th and 50th minute to seal the fate of Margao SC to book a place in the final.

Beneston Barreto of UC Verna was awarded the man-of-the-match.

Shiroda Youth Club will now meet United Club of Verna in the final to be played on May 25, at Raia panchayat ground, 4.30 pm
