RAIA: Carmel Boys, Curtorim, scored a solitary goal victory over Rebello Pandal, Maina, in the final to clinch the 18th Rebello Pandal Trophy football tournament organised by Rebello Pandal, Maina, at St Rita Church ground, Maina-Curtorim, on Sunday.
Carmel Boys netted the match-winner through Alland in the 56th minute. Cyril of Rebello Pandal missed a chance to score in the 60th minute.
Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco was the chief guest and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of guest of honour St Rita Church, Maina, Parish Priest Fr Dominic Vaz, Special invitees Michelle Rebelo, Jacob Athaide, Milagres Rodrigues, Mervin Fernandes, former international football player Mahesh Gawli, Savio Fernandes, Conceciao Dias, Angeliius Rebello, club officials and other dignitaries. On the occasion, Savio Fernandes, footballer, tournament organiser, lover and promoter of football from Virabhat-Curtorim, was felicitated by Rebello Pandal at the hands of MLA Aleixo.
