CURTORIM: Ave Maria Athletic and Walkers Club defeated Tilamola United SC 2-1in the GFA U-14 League play-off match held at Curtorim ground, on Tuesday.
Stephen Fernandes of Tilamola shot from close range but the rival goalkeeper saved it in the 6th minute.
Wilson Baa of Ave Maria left footer missed the Tilamola nets in the 13th minute.
Joshman Rebello of Ave Maria took control of the ball and moved into Tilamola box but the rival defender tackled his move in the 24th minute.
Tilamola took the lead in the 30th minute when Stephen Fernandes released a high voltage shot from the edge of Ave Maria box which crushed into Ave Maria nets giving no chance for the rival keeper.
Down by a goal, Ave Maria pressed hard in search of an equaliser and finally levelled terms through Wilson Baa in the 52nd minute.
The goal boosted the morale of the Ave Maria colts and the Benaulim team scored the match winner in the 67th minute through Mohammed Mansoor.
