RACHOL: Rachol Seminary defeated Pilar Mission Seminary by a solitary goal in Fr Agnelo Fellowship Cup, at Rachol Seminary ground, recently.
The match went underway, with Rachol Seminary attacking the rivals from the start , trying to get a score up on the sheet as the Pilar Seminarians tried to adjust on the pitch.
Both the teams displayed wonderful strategy and great persistence in trying to break each other’s defence.
It was in the 20th minute that Clifford Fernandes received the ball from their midfielder and smashed the ball home thus scoring the only goal of the match.
With the sole goal Rachol Seminary claimed their victory, for the third consecutive year against Pilar Mission Seminary.
Earlier, chief guest Fr Norman addressed both the teams and other community members and said that friendly matches over the years have built the relationship between the two seminaries.
Rector of the Rachol Seminary, Fr Dr Aleixo Menezes, Sports Animator of Pilar Seminary, Fr Lindon Rodrigues, Fr Elvis Fernandes, Fr Savio Gracious, Fr Savio Cabral, Fr Max Gonsalves, Fr Paul Fernandes, Fr Leonard and Fr Siju were present for the exhibition match.
Pilar Seminary captain, Joe thanked the hosts while the president of the sports cell of Rachol Seminary, Jovial Fernandes proposed the vote of thanks.
