NAVELIM: Bardez Veterans defeated Dabolim Veterans 1-0 to move in the finals the Navelim Veterans football tournament, at Rosary ground, Navelim, on Sunday.
Just in the second minute, Dabolim’s Pele Xavier connected a well measured ball to Alfred Fernandes inside Bardez box but Alfred’s power drive shot was saved by the Bardez keeper Mario Aquiar.
The tricky move by Bruno Coutinho to Mohan Parab worked well as Mohan sent in the ball to Shailesh Misken who was prowling into Dabolim box and opened the score line with his placement shot in the 24th minute.
Dabolim tried to equalise through Pele, Adrian and Jack but the Bardez keeper was equal to the task in the 36th, 38th and 40th minutes respectively.
Bardez Veterans will now meet the winners of Albert Developers and Fatorda Veterans in the finals on January 26.
