MARGAO: Betalbatim Sporting Club prevailed over Don Bosco Oratory, Fatorda 4-3 via tie-breaker to advance into the quarter-finals of Honey Bee Friendship Cup inter-village football tournament organized by Salcete Football Club, at Sinquetim ground, Navelim, Thursday.
The match was locked in a goalless draw at the end of regulation period.
Both the teams started the game on the offensive note and created some fertile moves in the initial period but their forwards were guilty of muffing golden chances.
With the regulation time ending in a stalemate, the tie-breaker was brought into play and Betalbatim Sporting Club held on their nerves to come out victories. They scored through Desmond Fernandes, Klinsman Pereira, Bernard Rodrigues and Cedric Dias while Wilson Dias, Ciano Pinto and Sebastiao Furtado converted for Don Bosco Oratory.
