PANJIM: Betalbatim Sporting got the better of Guardian Angel Sports Club 4-1 via the tie-breaker to move into the semi-finals of Cavelossim Panchayat Cup organized by Santa Cruz Club of Cavelossim at Fr Drunston and Wellington ground, Tuesday.
In the 12th minute, Betalbatim’s Dickson Rogtao set up Denzil Rogtao, who scored past the rival custodian to open an account.
In the second half, Guardian Angel equalized after Ajhof D’ Costa spotted Betalbatim goalkeeper Stefan Fernandes out of his position and chipped over the rival custodian from long-range.
At the fag end, Gaurdian Angel came close to score the match-winner but Benny Oliverio’s strike kissed the crosspiece.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Desmond, Klinsman, Dickson scored for Betalbatim while Guardian Angel’s Anthony Dias shot wide, Shahib and Alson’s shots hit the upright.
Earlier, a minute silence was observed in memory of Adalgina Rodrigues, patron member SCC of Cavelossim.
