FATORDA: Bethany Convent High School, Sao Jose de Areal thrashed St Rock High School, Tollecanto 5-1 to move into the next round of the Subroto Mukerjee Cup U-14 (Salcete Zone) football tournament, at artifical turf, Fatorda, on Tuesday.
Adelaide Lobo in the 5th minute rolled the ball to Allwyn Lobo who opened the account for Bethany Convent with a rasping drive. Thereafter Stewart Costa doubled the lead for Bethany with a deft placement shot in the 7th minute of Jaison Monteiro’s connect.
Change of ends saw Bethany Convent’s Stewart Costa and Allwyn Lobo score their brace making it 4-0 for Bethany convent in the last quarter of the match while Adrian Viegas made it 5-0 for Betany convent.
Prinson Viegas pulled a goal back for St Rock in the 27th minute.
In another match, Marina English High School, Verna defeated Adarsh VV High School by 4-0.
