MARGAO: Bhatikar Model School, Margao beat arch rivals Mahila Nutan High School, Margao by 5 wickets to win the Salcete Taluka Under-14 inter school cricket tournament organized by Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs at SAG Sports Complex, Fatorda on Tuesday.
Mahila Nutan High School who chose to bat after winning the toss, were bowled out for a paltry 86 runs with Kaniskh Masurkar top scoring with 86 runs. For Bhatikar Model High School, Ansih Maddolkar wrecked Mahila Nutan batting capturing 3wickets for just 5runs.
Though not a big task chasing a low score, Bhatikar Model High School, managed to achieve the target by scoring 87 runs losing 5 wickets. HT Ganesh with 32 runs to his credit was the chief contributor , while Anish Maddolkar (20) and Digesh Raikar (12) were other batsmen who chipped in valuable runs.
For Mahila Nutan High School Mohit Redkar was the most successful capturing 3 wickets.
