PANJIM: Director of Sports Authority of Goa, V M Prabhudesai gave a warm send-off to the Goa State chess players for the U-7 National Chess championship which is to be held at Tumkur, Karnataka from July 16 onwards.
Prabhudesai during his short speech mentioned how chess has now become the front-runner sports in Goa and that he is proud of how well our Goan chess players performed nationally and internationally. He praised the players whilst providing valuable tips about the game.
The Goa team comprised of total 13 players which a record for the first time that Goa U-7 is representing at the National Championship.
Among the 13 players, there are 4 players who won the first and second place in the Goa State U-7 boys and girls Championship tournament.
