BENAULIM: United Club Benaulim beat SCC Cavelossim by a solitary goal to move into the quarter-finals of the 14th Super Soccer inter-village football tournament organised by United Club of Benaulim, at Sao Joao Baptist ground, Dando-Benaulim, on Monday.
Benaulim’s Joel Fernandes had the first best chance of the match but the latter shot the ball into the hands of the Cavelossim keeper in the 6th minute.
Minutes later, Cavelossim’s Darren Estebeiro’s shot hit rival side netting.
It was striker Nicholas Rodrigues who scored the match winner for United Club Benaulim in the 23rd minute with the right footer.
