Calangute Association scored a hard fought 3-2 win over Corps of Signals in GFA’s First Division League at Poriat ground, Calangute on Tuesday. The teams were locked 1-1 at half time.
Calangute took the lead in the 12th minute through Shadab Shaikh off Stanley Coutinho. Stung by the reverse, Signals fought back and levelled the score in the closing minutes of the first half through Pankaj Gorkha off a defensive lapse.
Changing ends, both teams adopted a cautious approach confining play to the midfield. Calangute then scored two quick goals in the 75th and 80th minute through Shadab Shaikh and Pedro Gonsalves to take the game away from Signals.
Signals did not give up and pulled one back through Pankaj Gorkha off B Bahadur.
