MAPUSA: Candolim Sports Club managed to edge past St Sebastian SC, Mapusa, 2-1 to move ahead in the Candolim Panchayat Cup organised by Candolim SC at Dr Gustavo Monterio ground, Candolim.
In the very 1st minute of play, Marcus Fernandes controlled a cross from Rajat Chopdekar who then beautifully connected the ball into the goal, 1-0.
Ten minutes later, Candolim SC goalkeeper Chandan Redkar brought two superlative saves to deny St Sebastian SC their equaliser.
Roycee Gonsalves doubled the lead for Candolim SC by tapping the ball to the left of St Sebastian SC goalkeeper, 2-0. However, in the 55th minute of play, Shaviz Pathan headed the ball into the Candolim SC goal, 2-1.
