MAPUSA: CDJ Ribandar squeezed past Sanquelim FC 5-4 via the tie-breaker to advance into the quarter-finals of the Xetrapal Soccer Cup, organized by Xetrapal Sports Club, at Oxel ground, on Tuesday.
After a barren first session, Pravin put Sanquelim into the lead when he beautifully curled his free-kick into the far end of the Ribandar goal.
Ribandar pressed hard and managed to find the equalizer in the 60th minute when Minesh fired in the ball from the left flank.
With the match ending in a 1-1 draw, the tie-breaker was applied where Shaikh Mirzzan, Abhijit, Saish and Heston scored for Ribandar while Pravin, Rudesh and Tukaram shot on target for Sanquelim.
