MARGAO: A first half strike by Issac D’Costa enabled Host Chandor Club to nudge out Parish Youth, Nuvem to advance into the semi-final of All Goa 40st Chandor Seamen Trophy inter village football tournament organized by Chandor Club at Chandor ground, on Saturday .
In an evenly posited battle ,both the teams displayed attacking brand of soccer and there were few thrills but defenders stood tall in protecting the citadel . Chandor breakthrough came late in the opening sessions when Issac D’Costa bulge the net.
Stunned by the reverse, Parish Youth tried their best to neutralized the lead but rival defenders protected their slender lead .
Crossing over, Parish Youth raised the tempo and created many forays into the rival territory but their efforts were nullified by the rival defenders with neat tackles .
Chandor had a couple of scoring opportunities but their forwards were erratic in the rival danger zone.
