PANJIM: Chetan Kavlekar has been appointed as the chairman of Coaches Committee by the Archery Association of India, recently.
Chetan will be responsible for selecting methodology for selection of coaches for international competition, recommending coaches for international events, organising and implementing further education and training of Indian coaches, working as a part of Selection Committee member for able and para archers.
He is presently the vice-president of Archery Association of India and former secretary of Amateur Archery Association Goa. Chetan, who is qualified as MA, MPEd, M Phil, LLB (General) NSNIS (c) in table tennis and basketball is also a qualified Federation Technical Official in athletics, qualified official in table tennis, netball, basketball and archery.
He is also appointed as the member of Archery Association of India Recruitment Committee.
Chetan is a former national player in table tennis, basketball, netball and handball and has also coached Goa State team in basketball, netball and handball.
He has also been awarded State Best Physical Teacher Award and also National level best PE Teacher’s Award, stated a press release.
