Sesa Football Academy lost 0-1 to Chirag United Sport Club in 32nd Federation Cup football championship at Tilak Maidan, here on Tuesday.
Sesa have themselves to blame as they wasted at least four scoring chances.
The gem of a goal for Chirag came from Denson Devadas in the 19th minute when Jerry Zirsanga crossed from right flank and Denson did the rest.
Sesa had a chance in the 34th but Rakshak Naik’s header brushed off the pole off a free kick by Shishuram C.
Later in the 65th minute Shishuram’s ground shot went abegging.
Sesa’s Don Bosco missed a header off Inacio Colaco.
“We had a good game. Only if our strikers had shown some accuracy, the result would have been different,” said coach Clifford Chukwuma.
Chirag coach Subrata Bhattacharya was happy with the result. However, he was not satisfied with the performance as he missed four frontline players.
“It’s just the start of the season. We will gradually shape up better,” stated Bhattacharya.
