PANJIM: Churchill Brothers beat Goa Velha SC 4-0 in their opening match of GFA’s U-20 Taca Goa First Division football league match at the Tilak Maidan in Vasco, on Wednesday.
The Goa Velha goalkeeper was sent off in the 30th minute for bringing down Nelliston in the box. Myron however was unlucky to see his penalty saved by the substitute goalkeeper.
Churchill Brothers Goa used the numerical advantage in the second half with Domnic Suaris opening the scoring with a scorcher of a shot from 25yards out that flew into the top corner in the 73rd minute.
Two minutes later, Munna smashed the ball into the net from the edge of the 18yard box to make it 2-0 to the Red Machines.
Placidinho Fernandes then tapped a cross from the right into the goal in the 80th minute.
Elson Rodrigues then completed the rout in the 83rd minute with a powerful right footer from inside the box.
