MARGAO: Antruz Strikers and Mapusa Dream Crushers registered their second consecutive wins in the Alcon GSB Unity Cup T20 cricket tournament organised by the Goa GSB Sports and Charitable Trust in association with Goa Saraswat Samaj, at MCC ground, Margao, on Saturday.
Strikers scored 148 for 8 in 20 overs to restrict CQS to 118 for 9. In the afternoon session, the Mapusa Dream Crushers defeated Desserts and More Avengers by 13 runs. In reply to Dream Crushers’ 120 for 9, the Avengers were bowled out for 107 in 19.3 overs. Both teams had won their first match as well.

Antruz Strikers defeated CQS Scoring Willows by 30 runs in the first match of the day and the seventh league match of the tournament. Opener Vaibhav Kamat scored 26 runs off just nine balls and added 35 runs to the team along with Venkat Bicche (22). Apart from this, Saish Prabhudesai (28), captain Prasheel Kamat (27) and Pranav Biche (27 not out off 13 balls) were useful.
In the run chase, only Nikhil Virjinkar (21) gave little resistance for the CQS team. Vaibhav Kamat, who was adjudged Man-of-the-Match, also made an impact in the bowling, taking 2 wickets for 27 runs.
In the second match, Mapusa Dream Crushers could only manage 120/9 in 20 overs. Pankaj Naik and Sanjay Netravalkar (32) added 46 runs for the second wicket after the first blow at the start. Kaushal Churi (32) also played a key role in helping the team cross the 100-run mark. Mapusa kept the Avengers away from victory while successfully defending a modest target. Kapil Angle also shone with the bat, scoring 28 runs. Animesh Prabhugaonkar of Mapusa Dream Crushers was adjudged Man-of-the-Match for taking 3 for 10.
