MARGAO: CRSC Navelim came from behind to hold Young Strikers, Benaulim to a 1-1 draw in the Salcete Zone GFA’s Under-14 football tournament, at SAG ground, Assolna, Sunday.
Both the goals came in the first half.
The teams started the game on cautious note. However, it was Young Strikers who forged ahead in the 20th minute when Levy Pereira slotted past the rival goalkeeper with snap shot.
However, their joy was short-lived and five minutes later Jason Furtado neutralized the lead.
Crossing over, the teams adopted an aggressive approach but could not score due to poor marksmanship.
In another match, Cana-Benaulim edged past Colmorod Ratvaddo 3-2.
In Bardez Zone, St Anthony S C, Marna demolished Tropa Social and Cultural Association 5-0.
In Ilhas Zone, CSM Taleigao scored a solitary goal victory over Portais.
Myron Peixito got the all-important goal.
