BETALBATIM: Cuncolim Union defeated SCC Cavelossim 3-2 to move into the quarter-finals of the late Joao Francisco Pacheco inter-village football tournament, organised by Betalbatim Sports Club and played at Betalbatim Sports Complex, on Friday.
Clifton Fernandes netted the first goal of the match for Cuncolim in the second minute. Within fifteen minutes, Nilesh Velip doubled the lead for winners before Bharat Gaonkar made it 3-0 at the half hour mark.
As the match progressed, SCC Cavelossim netted two goals through Alex Cardozo and Hasten Vaz in the 40th and 50th minutes respectively.
