FATORDA: Cuncolim Union beat A. A de Moira 2-0 in the Geno First Division League organised by Goa Football Association (GFA) in association with Jhoncy Restaurant Benaulim, played at Artificial Turf, Fatorda, on Saturday.
The game witnessed an equal play as both teams came out with some potent attacks but both sides lacked finishing.
The Cuncolim side had an upper hand in the game and this was evident as they shot into the lead through Imamsab Guledgudda in the 37th minute.
In the second half, Cuncolim Union controlled the ball better and moved forward coming close and terrorizing the Moira defence. Cuncolim Union managed to add their second goal through Imamsab who completed his brace in the 62nd minute.
In another game played at Sesa ground, Sesa FA beat Dempo SC (Jrs) 3-0. Dempo’s Kidron Fernandes scored an own goal which helped the Sesa side take the lead in the 16th minute.
Kunal Salgaocar added the second goal in the 21st minute with a neat placement into the post.
Manjunath Rathod added the team’s third goal in the 35th minute as the first half goals were enough to seal the game for the winners.
