Cuncolim Union in quarters

Cuncolim Union blanked Guirdolim Sports Club 2-0 to cruise into the quarter-finals of All-Goa Eslinda Alemao memorial inter-village football tournament organized by Sporting Club of Davorlim at Davorlim ground on Wednesday. There was no score at half time.
After much probing, it was Cuncolim Union who came close to forging ahead but striker Rosario Carvalho’s snap shot sailed over the bar.
Crossing over, Cuncolim Union went into the attacking mode and swarmed all over the Guirdolim territory. They broke the deadlock when striker Rosario Carvalho blasted home after receiving a clever pass from Perryson Fernandes.
Parryson Fernandes doubled the lead with a blistering shot from close range midway in the second half.
Guirdolim tried their best to reduce the margin and made a couple of forays into the rival territory but Cuncolim’s stubborn defenders never allowed the rival strikers to penetrate into the penalty area.
