CHANDOR: Curtorim Gymkhana defeated Cuncolim Union 4-0 to move into the semi-finals of the Chandor SC Golden Jubilee Cup played at Chandor on Thursday.
Curtorim Gymkhana from the word go went on an attacking mode with Placindinho Fernandes and Agnelo Martins tormenting the Cuncolim Union defense lines but Dinesh Naik and Krishna Shirodkar defended well for Cuncolim Union..
As the fast paced match progressed Placindinho Fernandes of Curtorim Gymkhana placed the ball in front of Agnelo Martins but Dinesh Naikdeflected the threat.
There after Deepak Velip co-ordinated well to setup Sandeep Dessai of Cuncolim Union but he shot
wide in the 25th minute. With just two minutes left for the first half Anthony Cardoza slammed a powerful grounder to open score for Curtorim Gymkhana. The ball found the nets of Cuncolim Union off a short pass by Stephen Fernandes.
After the lemon break Curtorim Gymkhana went all guns blazing and increased their lead through Anthony Cardoza in the 43rd minute.Placindinho Fernandes thereafter made it 3-0 for Curtorim Gymkana in the 44th minute. Renoy Fernandes netted the fourth goal for Curtorim Gymkhana in the 53rd minute.
