Curtorim Gymkhana, SCC Cavelossim prevail; Sesa FA, Dempo SC Juniors held

PANJIM: Curtorim Gymkhana, St Savio SC, SCC Cavelossim registered wins in their respective encounters while Sesa Football Academy were held to a 2-2 draw by A A de Moira in the Geno GFA First Division League match played at Sirsaim ground, on Saturday. 
Salgaocar FC and Dempo SC Juniors were also held in their respective encounters.
At Duler Stadium, despite the margin, it was the Goa Velha colts who had a better share of exchanges however their strikers lost ideas on entering the danger zone.
However, Maldino Rodrigues broke the deadlock in the 30th minute when he pounced on a mis-clearance by the Goa Velha keeper and slotted the ball home.
Six minutes later, Milagres Fernandes made it 2-0 when his long range blistering shot crashed into the Goa Velha net.
Changing over, Goa Velha defender Akram faltered in clearing away the ball which further travelled towards Milagres Fernandes who covered some ground before slotting the ball home to make it 3-0.
Sesa FA registered a comeback in the second half to hold A A De Moira 2-2 draw.
The game started with great energy as both the teams produced excellent chances in the first half and maintained a good shape.
Sesa FA conceded a goal from the free-kick right before the half time when Lloyd Mascarenhas free-kick was converted into the back of the net.
In the second half, Kunal came on the pitch and equalised for Sesa Football Academy in the 59th minute by scoring an excellent header for the team.
This turned out to be an excellent substitution by the coach.
Sesa Football Academy scored in the 82nd minute when their striker Olvin scored from inside the box. He has now eight goals to his name and is the leading goal scorer in the league.
Only a few minutes later Ashley who was playing as a central midfielder for Sesa Football Academy was shown a straight red card by the referee for protesting against a foul. 
They were reduced to ten men and in the dying minutes of the game, Manushawn scores an equalizer in the extra time for A.A De. Moira.
Olvin won man-of-the-match award yet again, his third in three games. 
At Rosary ground, Navelim, SCC Cavelossim trounced Clube Sao Miguel de Taleigao 4-0. Roven Pereira, Alfred Noronha, Joel Barreto and D Fernandes scored for the winners.
At Poriat ground, St Savio SC eased past United Sports Club of Telaulim 2-0. 
The winners scored a goal each in the either half. Richard Cardozo gave St Savio the lead in the 41st minute before Jesloy Moniz doubled the account in the 56th minute. 
USC had two of their players sent off for double bookings.
Leston Cardozo and Donald Rocha were sent off in the 76th and 79th minutes respectively.
At Ambelim ground, Salgaocar FC Juniors played out an enthralling 2-2 draw.
Salgaocar FC Juniors led 1-0 at the break. 
Prajat Mondal gave the Greens the lead in the first minute.
 But Jesus F equalised for Cuncolim in the second half before Raju Pradashi put Cuncolim ahead in the 65th minute. 
However, Salgaocar FC made it all square in the 73rd minute as Prajat Mondal completed his brace. 
Salgaocar FC’s Prajat Mondol received the man-of-the-match award.
At Ella ground, Dempo Sports Club and Goa Police shared the spoils after playing 1-1 draw.
Altory Rodrigues gave Dempo SC Juniors the lead in the 11th minute. 
Golden Eagles led 1-0 at the break. 
Crossing over, Goa Police equalised through Sezwin Fernandes in the 55th minute.
