Salcete Grassroots Football
PANJIM: The Curtorim Centre which is promoted by Curtorim Gymkhana and Armando Colaco, was inaugurated, Wednesday morning by Bro. James Marcus, Chairman of the Coordination Committee of the Salcete Grassroots Football Development Programme.
Thirty-five children, between the age of eight and 10 reported for the first day of training at DSYA ground, Curtorim.

Arnaldo Costa, president, Curtorim Gymkhana welcomed and introduced the guests. Armando Colaco, Savio Medeira and Gromiko Fernandes spoke on the occasion. Former international Robert Fernandes, Agnelo Mascarenhas and Jacinto Fernandes were among those present.
The coaches attached to the Curtorim Centre are Joaquim Gunja, Roque Carneiro, Savio Vaz and Alex Dias.
In the afternoon the Churchill Bros sponsored Varca Centre was inaugurated by Yuri Alemao. Thirty children reported for training on the inaugural day. The centre administrator Peter Rodrigues welcomed and introduced the guests. Others present were Sunil Chettri, Mauricio Afonso, Thomas (Prebelo) Fernandes and Jacinto Fernandes. The coaches attached to the centre are Billy Pereira, Joaquim Manuel D’Silva and D Pereira. They are working under the guidance of veteran coach and player Socorro Coutinho.
