NAVELIM: Curtorim Veterans edged past host Navelim Veterans 5-4 via the tie-breaker to move into the semi-finals of the Navelim Veterans football tournament organized by Navelim Veterans, at Rosary ground, on Wednesday.
At the lemon break, both the teams failed to score.
Denis Cabral took the lead for Navelim in the 37th minute with a ground shot off connect by Claudio Dias. Curtorim equalized through Alex Fernandes by deft placement shot off a through pass from Mario Pereira.
At the end of regulation time, the teams were held to a 1-1 draw.
In the resultant tie-breaker, Curtorim were on target through Mario Pereira, Robert Fernandes, Joao Dias and Francisco Carvalho while Navelim netted with the efforts of
Claudio Dias, Denis Cabral and Frank Fernandes. Man-of-the-match was awarded to Pascoal Faleiro.
