PANJIM: Rohit Pilgaonkar continued his blistering form with a sensational hat-trick as Don Bosco Oratory, Panjim demolished Fr Agnel Youth Centre, Pilar 7-0 in GFA’s Under-14 League (Ilhas zone), at Don Bosco ground, Panjim, Friday morning.
Don Bosco led 4-0 at the lemon break.
Nikhil Correia opened the scoring for Don Bosco just after nine minutes with a solo effort. Pilar barely had time to get their breath back, as within 60 seconds, Akash Parwar slammed in the second after being released by Rohit.
Shortly, after Rohit headed in an early cross from Seby Fernandes to validate his account and on the half hour mark Rohit struck again to swell Don Bosco’s tally.
After resumption, Don Bosco looked to grow in confidence and it was not too long before they netted the fifth. Cyrus Rodrigues saw his ambitious drive from the edge of the box take an unfortunate deflection of the back of the head of one Fr Agnel defender, as it flew into the unguarded net.
The second half was barely 16 minutes old, when Don Bosco produced a special team goal. Left back Santan Pereira searched forward, before slipping the ball into Nikhil and he changed the play by switching the ball to the right flank, where Seby Fernandes ran breathtakingly fast to hoist the ball in for Sarfaraz Sayed to score.
In the closing stages, Kyle D’Cruz dribbled menacingly forward and laid the ball for Rohit to complete a well deserved hat-trick.
Don Bosco Oratory which collected nine points from three games, is being coached by PE teacher Freddy Gomes and former Sporting Clube de Goa star Abdulateef Adewale Seriki.
