I-League champions, Dempo will lock their horns with Federation Cup champions, East Bengal on December 1 for Super Cup at Dr. Ambedkar Stadium, Delhi under floodlights.
In the recently concluded I-League, Dempo lifted their fourth League title, while Churchill finished second with newly promoted Pune based side, Pune FC clinched third spot.
Among the individual awards, Mohammed Rafi bagged best player trophy, while India international, Subrata Pal has been chosen as the best goalkeeper for the year 2009-10.
Churchill striker, Odafe Onyeka Okolie once again stood out among the strikers and was elected best forward, while the best defender trophy went to Salgaocar SC’s Brazilian recruit Luciano Sabrosa with Anthony Pereira emerging the best among midfielders.
Armando Colaco was adjudged as the best coach, while the Fair Play Trophy went to JCT Phagwara.
Meanwhile, Col. Gautam Kar has been nominated for AFC Match Commissioner of the year 2010 award. The AFC annual award ceremony will be held at Sunway Hotel Resort on November 24 in Kuala Lumpur. The other nominees are Abdul Ghafoor Abdul Hameed from Maldives and Talal A. Syailmeen from Jordan.
