PANJIM: Wesley Do Rosario and Tanisi Kirtani bagged doubled crown in the MCC Major Ranking Table Tennis tournament, organised by Margao Cricket Club, at MCC indoor hall, recently.
Wesley Do Rosario bagged junior boys and men’s single titles while Tanisi Kirtani emerged victorious in junior girls and Ladies singles.
In the junior boys final, Wesley defeated Rutuj Sonawane
9-11, 11-4, 11-5, 16-18, 11-3 in a five set thriller. In the men’s final Wesley beat Diljeet Velingkar 11-5, 11-9, 11-5 and 11-7.
Tanisi Kirtani beat Tania Patil 11-5, 11-8, 11-6 to clinch the junior girls’ single title and then defeated the same opponent once again 11-4, 11-4, 11-5 to clinch the ladies singles title.
Director of Sports and Youth Affairs V M Prabhudesai was the chief guest for the programme and gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up in the presence of Secretary of Goa Table Tennis Association Vishnu Kolwalkar and other dignitaries.
