MAPUSA: Dunes Sports Club were held to a goalless draw by Silver Sand Sports Club in the GFA’s 16 league played at Duler Stadium, here on Thursday.
The first session was mostly restricted to the midfield play.
Both the teams had an attempt each at the rival goals but failed to score. In the 25th minute a through pass by Dunes Ketan was collected by Chandrakant who failed to beat the onrushing keeper. Six minutes later Silver Sand’s Inacio dribbled past couple of rival defenders and the keeper and passed the ball to Bronson who blasted the ball wide. On crossing over Dunes colts dominated and had two chances to take the lead but failed.
In the 47th minute a long ball by Joshua was collected by Saleesh who beat the rival defender and released the ball to Chandrakant who had just the rival keeper to beat but shot wide. Another chance went in vain for Dunes when a 30-yard free kick by Chandrakant missed the target narrowly.
At Dramapur ground, Wilred Leisure came from behind to down Don Bosco Oratory 2-1.
Don Bosco had taken the lead through Tanish Lotlikar in the 11th minute. However, Wilred Leisure came back strongly in the second half and levelled terms through Sem Fernandes in the 53rd minute before the lad completed his brace in the 77th minute scoring the match-winner for Wilred Leisure to give them full points.
